Victoria Secret Fashion Show

 Hey Angels!

I just recently watched the VS fashion show for 2026 and wanted to unpack it.

The general mood for this was definitely fun and playful pulling on the Zara Larson coded clothing and colour schemes which was why I was shocked when she didn't show up.

Bella Hadid
The opening angel - Bella Hadid was on par with the mood but overall I felt underwhelmed as the angel is supposed to showcase the entire vibe for the whole show. The wings weren't massive and honestly the outfit felt that it could be a smaller part of the show. Also another fault was her walk was not as powerful as it could have been, and it almost felt awkward and anxious like she didn't know what to do with herself or her hands.

As many have commented and I feel the same but I do feel that the show was to too focused on being a concert for a fashion show, the camera work also focusing on the singers meant that the majority watching from home could not see the actual lingerie. Now, giving the performers wings was also a mistake as they are not angels nor models, as well as creating a bigger obstacle for the models to dodge, especially in Megan Moroney's performances it just felt like she thought she was the main spectacle when I came here to watch the clothes and not just her.

I do believe that some of the performances such as Tate McRae and Megan Thee Stallion's where very well executed and created a good atmosphere without prioritising themselves over the models. I loved Tate McRae's performance I just think it was so well executed and her and her back up dancers all looked stunning in that red lingerie. I also like how they did a dance at the start but then moved off the stage to give the models their moment.

I have to say I think that while Pink is targeted to a younger audience some of the designs look super cheap and tacky rather than fun and girly. An example of this would definitely be the embellished jeans as well as the models having phones which added to the feel of an older generation trying to figure out what younger people want to see.

I was initially worried to see the Katseye performance as I had heard bad thing but considering I am not a fan of Katseye, I didn't end up cringing or disliking it as much as I thought I would (except for the end walk that was not as good as it could of been if they had done it in time with each other.)

The collections where broken up by seasons, starting with spring which I was overall impressed with as I thought it really emulated Victoria Secret and Spring with the pink and pops of colours that were interwoven. I was a fan of the fun head pieces and wings that resembled flowers and branches as well as the billowing jackets and skirts that created dynamic looks when walking.

I think the spring collection transitioned really well into the vintage collection with the first performer Megan Moroney. Like I said earlier I am super disappointed by the camera work as I feel that many of the models I didn't even see due to the camera work being focused on the performer. But I loved all the delicate slips made with silk and tulle, making beautiful silhouettes that were super flattering. Also Barbara Palvin strutting down the runway only 6 weeks post partum was so iconic, she really is going to go down in history as one of the best VS angels as well as the incredible support from Dylan Sprouse was just raising all our standards.

The summer collection with Tate McRae was so colourful and so Zara Larson coded with the layer lace lingerie, the solid gold with colourful ombres, the body jewellery was so beautiful and I thought it was so cohesive and stunning

The warm tones of the autumn collection, including gold, black and brown was so gorgeous, I loved the lace and the wings in this section. Also all the AAU top contestants walked ending with Solange Omon was so iconic and I'm so excited to see her walks in the future! She is so gorgeous and her walk was so good and confident.

The winter collection with Megan Thee Stallion was probably my least favourite collection, I just didn't like the styles and colours as much but it was still overall cohesive. I did really like the crystals and glass gems used throughout and it was probably my favourite part I just liked them used as wings.

Now the biggest controversy was definitely Kylie Jenner wearing the $50 million diamond bra after not even being an angel, stealing that honour from an angel that absolutely deserved it so much more. It also didn't even fit her properly, creating an unflattering look some how cheapening such an expensive bra. It isn't even just about that. It is about the fact that the fantasy bra represents the peak of a supermodels career, in the past when being a supermodel was unattainable and hard work, but now with Kylie wearing it shows that if you have enough money you don't need to put hard work in or earn anything but it is simply given to you, stripping the fantasy bra of it's meaning. It just makes me upset that the first time they decide to bring it back is just a massive marketing move.

Adriana being the last to walk was a great move really solidifying the show as she also was right at the start.

Overall I think these shows are moving in a positive direction but still need to much to really achieve that early 2000s atmosphere that captured everyone.

What do you guys think? Did you like it or dislike it? I'd be curious to hear and discuss with you, angels!! Anyways thank for reading!

xoxo
