Victoria Secret Fashion Show

 Hey Angels! 

I just recently watched the VS fashion show for 2026 and wanted to unpack it.

The general mood for this was definitely fun and playful pulling on the Zara Larson coded clothing and colour schemes which was why I was shocked when she didn't show up.

The opening angel - Bella Hadid was on par with the mood but overall I felt underwhelmed as the angel is supposed to showcase the entire vibe for the whole show. The wings weren't massive and honestly the outfit felt that it could be a smaller part of the show. Also another fault was her walk was not as powerful as it could have been, and it almost felt awkward and anxious like she didn't know what to do with herself or her hands.

As many have commented and I feel the same but I do feel that the show was to too focused on being a concert for a fashion show, the camera work also focusing on the singers meant that the majority watching from home could not see the actual lingerie. Now, giving the performers wings was also a mistake as they are not angels nor models, as well as creating a bigger obstacle for the models to dodge, especially in Megan Moroney's performances it just felt like she thought she was the main spectacle when I came here to watch the clothes and not just her.

I do believe that some of the performances such as Tate McRae and Megan Thee Stallion's where very well executed and created a good atmosphere without prioritising themselves over the models. I loved Tate McRae's performance I just think it was so well executed and her and her back up dancers all looked stunning in that red lingerie. I also like how they did a dance at the start but then moved off the stage to give the models their moment. 

I have to say I think that while Pink is targeted to a younger audience some of the designs look super cheap and tacky rather than fun and girly. An example of this would definitely be the embellished jeans as well as the models having phones which added to the feel of an older generation trying to figure out what younger people want to see.

I have been researching a lot of early 2000s runway collections, just to feel more inspired in my own creations, and I wanted to talk about one that specifically caught my eye. 

The Blumarine SS 2004 collections is absolutely breathtaking and is just the vibe I yearn to give off, early 2000s, pink, girly and angelic.

Blumarine's core values are conveying feeling across, making clothing that are attractive to all women claiming they 'foster freedom, frivolity, and spontaneity.'

Blumarine is known for ultra-feminine, romantic, and glamorous aesthetic and the founder of Blumarine Anna Molinari was nicknamed the 'Queen of Roses'

The fabrics that are used are shiny, frilly, and airy. I love the way the fabric moves around the model when they walk, creating beautiful silhouettes.

It effortlessly gives the look of what I imagine spring would look like in clothing.

This collection feels carefree and perfectly encapsulates the feeling of girlhood, being light fun and free and exploring individuality. 

I love this collection and will always come back to it for inspiration in my own personal style and when creating.

halloween costumes

Hello Angels! 

As Halloween is coming up I am brainstorming different costume for my parties. I thought I'd share my ideas that are competing in my brain right now, so we can all be hot on Halloween but not be basic!

1 - EASY A - OLIVE

My first and most probable costume is Olive Penderghast from Easy A in the scene when she is walking into the school. 

It's super simple but so cute. All you need is a pair of black skinny jeans, black heels and a black corset. Then for accessories you add the A, black sunnies and pearl choker next and you have it! 

I think this might be mine as I have most of the costume already and it's super flattering on me. I also think this is a super unique costume but also not unidentifiable

2 - THE VAMPIRE DIARIES - KATHERINE

This is obviously Katherine Pierce from TVD and I personally think if I go as her this would be the costume I would wear which I definitely know is ironic because she is pretending to be Elena in this scene. 

This is also such an easy costume, you need a black lace masquerade mask, a strapless black mini dress and some accessories, like her necklace and some bracelets.

You could also find other outfits of her but I feel like this is the most identifiable outfits.

fashion journalism is the dream

I have been thinking about my future a decent amount with the end of school coming around and as time isn't stopping for me to think, I have been thinking about my future and university choices. I have always wanted to be around books in my job ever since I was a kid. I actually wanted to be a librarian but now sadly they don't seem to be needed in this horrific day and age.

This year specifically obsessed with the idea of being a journalist, mainly in some sort of art, such as media or some other thing, but extremely recently I have been so infatuated with fashion. It really incorporates so many things
into one and is such a beautiful art. So that led to me borrowing all the books from the limited library section on fashion and binge reading them during my exams week. Yay! Also led me to wish I had started collecting magazines while I was in the womb.

Anyway now I have the deepest desire to be writing for a Vogue magazine or any kind of magazine for what it’s worth - picture Andy Sachs or Andie Anderson (maybe even Carrie Bradshaw though I haven’t watched Sex and the City yet, so let me know if i should start) 

hottest colours of summer 2026

Hey Angels!

Now that summer (or winter) is over for us, I wanted to go over what I would call the most popular trend of the summer that might just die out as the autumn/fall colours take over. And that is the fun colours and colour blocking that took everyone by storm. 

With all the negativity around AI and the world at the moment, the fun of the bright colours brought us all a sense of childness and joyfulness into what we are wearing. I know that I will be bringing this revival of colour into what is my spring with me as in Australia we just had winter so I am yet to fully embrace the colour.

Without further ado these are the top colours...

TEAL

Teal is just the colour at the moment but it will always be to me the colour I so desperately wanted to paint my walls as a tween, and here I am now obsessed with it again. I need to buy more clothes in this colour, like a leather slouchy bag or those yoga ants from brandy. This emulates such a nostalgic 2000s vibe that makes me yearn for spring and summer. I am not ashamed to admit that you will be seeing me in this colour.

I feel that bags are key to an outfit and I REALLY need that key. They have locked me out. But bags are so expensive, why are they so expensive. I am looking out at the op shop (thrift store for americans) all the time but there is never anything good.

Leather colour bags are my obsession currently and add so much to an outfit. You can genuinely wear the most basic, t-shirt and jeans or sweatpants and hoodies with this bag and it looks so cool and fashionable.
